Wolf Laurel Country Club Offers An Array of Mountain Fun

ImageWolf Laurel Resort was founded in 1965. It began as a 5,000 acre resort/golf and ski development located 30 minutes north of Asheville, NC with elevations ranging from 3,700' to 5,600'. The property has 24-hour gated security and is 5 miles from the newly constructed I-26, exit #3.

Wolf Laurel Ski Resort currently has approximately 1,000 unimproved lots with an additional 1,300 acres yet to develop. There are approximately 550 homes in the resort and 24 one-bedroom and 36 two-bedroom condo units within walking distance of the clubhouse. The Wolf Laurel Clubhouse is a 10,000 square foot building, built and finished in 1991.

The William Lewis designed golf course was finished in 1970. It is a challenging 18-hole course with some of the most breathtaking and dramatic mountain vistas in the country. Here you will find fairways that drop more than 100' from tee to green and holes that wrap themselves around the sides of mountains. Our elevation offers special appeal during the summer months with relief from the heat of the level lands.

The Wolf Laurel ski slopes are independently owned and operated within the resort boundaries. It has 54 acres of skiable terrain. Fourteen challenging slopes are offered featuring varying degrees of difficulty to accommodate the novice beginner or the most experienced expert skier. The longest run is approximately one mile, and the overall vertical drop is 700 feet.

Wolf Laurel Resort is host to a section of the Appalachian Trail that runs across the top of Big Bald Mountain. Several acres surrounding the AT have been sold to the National Forest to protect this pristine treasure. Hiking is a favorite pastime here.

Other fun activities within resort boundaries include swimming, tennis, horseback riding, and fishing. Enjoy the pavilion with picnic facilities and bathrooms.
